Hello from your Van Buren Transportation Department, This is a friendly reminder that there is no school for Van Buren students on Tuesday, November 6th. Also, please note that Wednesday November 7th, Thursday November 8th and Friday November 9th are half days for students. Please plan accordingly for students to arrive home on these half days. Students must ride home on their assigned bus route. All kindergarten students require an authorized adult to meet the bus with picture ID or a signed emergency sheet to exit on their own. Van Buren Public Schools was notified by the Washtenaw Sheriff's Office that the unmarked bus this morning was a new transportation provider for another school. The authorities noted that this was not an abduction scenario.
An unmarked school bus has been reportedly seen stopping in the West Willow neighborhood trying to pick up students. Do Not Allow your students to approach any bus not clearly marked with Van Buren Public Schools on it. Police have been contacted.
Power has been restored to Belleville High School and the Administration Building. School will resume tomorrow (10/17)at normal times.
Belleville High School Students and Staff will not report today, Monday, October 16, due to a power outage.
