  • We love our Panthers and want them to be safe no matter where they are!  This includes online safety - and we want to help parents keep kids safe online.  If your kids use a tablet, phone, or other Internet connected device, the adults in charge need to check on them often.  This means having all of their screen names, passwords, logins, and access to all activity online.  Want to get more involved in your child's online life but arent' sure where to start?  The State of Michigan offers Protect MI Child.  A free resource that will help you know what to say and do to keep your kids safe online.  Click the button below for more information!

  • bus In order to keep all of our Tyler Panthers safe, please follow our Parent Drop Off Procedure!

Parent Drop Off Lane: If you are dropping your child off, we ask that you remain in your car and pull up to the EAST parking lot curb.  Join the line of vehicles and pull all the way up to the end of the line before having your child get out of your vehicle on the curb side!  As you exit, remain in the drop off lane until it is safe to exit the parking lot.  Please do not pass the other curbside vehicles on your way out.

Parent Parking: If you are walking your child into the building, we ask that you park in the WEST parking lot and walk them in.  Remember, you are always welcome and wanted at Tyler, but if you don't need to come in in the mornings, there are many friendly staff members and school safety patrollers who will guide your child inside the building.

Please call the school office with any questions you may have about these safety procedures!

  • Van Buren Public Safety Director Greg Laurain issued a press release in support of the OK2SAY initiative launched by the State of Michigan. This initiative was created to enable students to confidentially report potential harm or criminal activities involving students or OK2SAY logo school employees.

The OK2SAY focus is early intervention and prevention, acting as an early warning system to thwart school tragedies before they occur. The link for this program will become a permanent part of our District and School websites. We also have a FAQ section on this program.
