BNT BioLit & BHS Ecology

Two weeks ago, volunteers from the Huron River Watershed Council joined our BioLit and Ecology classes to study the water quality of our pond, as well as having students find and identify benthic macroinvertebrates from nearby samples of the Huron River.  Looking at these organisms and the pond's water quality can help us assess how well the watershed is performing as a natural filter: for Belleville Lake and eventually our Great Lakes.  Students did an excellent job being citizen scientists for the day.
