Hello McBride Community,

This communication is to update all of our students and families of some changes for the 2nd Marking Period Schedule.

In order to balance class sizes for both in-person and remote students, we are adjusting the current school schedule (both for remote and in-person students). These changes will ensure that all in-person classes will be safely socially distanced, and remote classes will be smaller.

To do this, we are extending the First Marking Period one week to make the necessary changes. This means that the First Marking Period will end on Friday, November 20th and the Second Marking Period will begin Monday, November 23rd. Report cards will be sent home with in-person students and mailed to remote learners the week of November 23rd.

Here are the changes that will be made beginning Second Marking Period:

Remote Learner Schedule:
New start time of 8:17 am
4 core classes (8:17 am - 12:26 pm)
1 asynchronous focus class
Individual / small group support will be offered from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Band students will have live instruction in the afternoon

In-Person Schedule:
Start and end times will remain the same (8:17 am - 3:04 pm)
Move from 7 hour day to 6 hour day
4 core classes
The other two classes will be focus or elective hours
All classes will be 59-60 minutes
Individual support will be embedded in core classes

We appreciate your understanding as we make changes to better serve students. Please feel free to contact our counseling department with any questions at 734-697-9171.
