PAMELA O'NEILL

CLASS OF 1982

Mrs. Pamela O’Neill, Class of 1982, is being awarded the honor of Distinguished Graduate for her work in the community and education.

After graduating from Belleville High School, Mrs. O’Neill earned five degrees: a Bachelor’s of Arts in Business Administration and a Masters in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University, a Bachelors of Arts in Teaching and a Master’s degree in School Administration from Eastern Michigan University, and a Masters in Curriculum Mathematics from Walden University. She is currently a dedicated teacher at McBride Middle School.

She started her career as a Human Resource professional and transferred to the teaching profession. This love for students and the educational realm transcended her personal classroom and extended into involvement with the Parent Teacher Organization and volunteering in her children’s classes weekly.

She is a member of the Van Buren Education Foundation and helps to raise funds to provide grants for teachers. As a member of the Tiger Parent group, she heads the Senior Party Planning Committee which is instrumental in aiding end-of-year activities. As a teacher at McBride Middle School she is on the Leadership Team, Student Council Advisor, Co-Play Director, School Improvement Team and the Summer School Coordinator. She has been awarded the Van Buren Exemplary Employee Award for her outstanding work as a math teacher. In the community, Mrs. O’Neill is a past President of the Belleville Business and Professional Women’s Club and is the current Finance Chair of the newly formed Belleville Area Women’s Club.

Mrs. O’Neill is married to Todd O’Neill and they have four children: Harry, Ryan, Austin, and Stephanie. She is a lifelong member of the Van Buren Community and is active in her church and many community efforts.
